CHRONOLOGY OF INVENTION OF TECHNOLOGICAL MEANS
IN OUR CLASS OF 6TH PRIMARY WE ARE IN AN ETWINNING PROJECT ABOUT MEDIA LITERACY AND DISINFORMATION.
WE HAVE STARTED WITH THE TELEVISION.
BUT IN THIS PROJECT WE WILL SEE AND WORK THE CHRONOLOGY OF INVENTION.
WE USE THE COMPUTERS AND I GIVE THEM THIS PAGE TO WORK ON. THE TEXT IS LONG BUT IT IS EASY TO READ BECAUSE IT IS A LIST OF WORDS. I THINK IT IS EASY FOR THEM TO WORK ON THIS TEXT.

WITH THIS PAGE THEY HAVE TO USE ONLY THE MEDIA MEANS.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY IS TO KNOW WHAT THE MEDIA MEANS ARE AND THE NAME OF THEM IN ENGLISH. SO THAT, THE PROJECT IT WILL BE EASIER FOR THEM.
IT IS EASY TO DO A TIMELINE, BUT WE HAVE WORKED THE TEXT IN A BIG GROUP OF CLASS. WE HAVEN´T DONE IT INDIVIDUALLY.
WE HAVE READ THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE TEXT AND THEM, WE HAVE DECIDED WHAT TO PUT IN THE LINE.
WE HAVE NEEDED THREE HOURS TO DO IT: FIRST ONE, THEY HAVE THE TEXT, THEY READ IT AND THEN THEY NOTE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONES ON THEIR NOTEBOOKS. SECOND ONE, WE SPEAK ABOUT THEIRS NOTES AND WE MAKE A BRAINSTORMING ON THE BLACKBOARD. FINALLY WE DO THE TIMELINE .
THE PROBLEMS IN THIS ACTIVITY IS THE LEVEL OF READING OF MY STUDENTS. THEY NEEDED THE DICTIONARY FOR SOME WORDS IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL READING TIME.
NEXT TIME, I WILL LET THEM DO ONE BY THEMSELVES. I THINK IT IS EASY AND THEY CAN DO IT REALLY WELL.
THREE WAYS TO USE THE TIMELINE:
- FOR THE PRESENT SIMPLE IN DAILY ROUTINE: A TEXT OF A PERSON TALKING ABOUT HER DAILY ROUTINE IN A WEEK. SO THEY CAN DO A TIMELINE WITH THE WEEK AND THEIR CHORES.
- WHEN THE STUDENTS LEARN ALL THE TENSE VERBS: A STORY WITH A LOT OF MOMENTS IN THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE.
- FESTIVITIES IN ENGLAND AND THE CHRONOLOGY.
