INTERACTION

6.4. INTERACTION I have seen some of the blogs my partners have published and I think all of them are really good. I like it the genially activity of Marta the teacher. I think it is very simple and, at the same time, very complete. As I have written in my comment to her blog, it is an activity that can be done with different themes. I am going to do with my student something similar but with the back of our Christmas holidays. The image will be done according to our students talk about. The question is: What did you do last Christmas? So, they work the past simple. If they say: I went shopping, they will put the image of a shop…. I hope my idea works. These all are the comments I have done to some of the blogs. STORYJUMPER

I have used the storyjumper before: - In our school, we did a storybook for the day of Andalucia and it was really good. - For etwinning project, we also did a storybook as a final product. I think it is a great application for, above all, projects. Here you can see all the ones I did last year.   https://www.storyjumper.com/book/read/93597026 https://www.storyjumper.com/book/read/93474886 There is another one which I did but it is not allowed to share. I also did a bookcreator and it is the same. https://read.bookcreator.com/f2oVeShW2Ier6omRPWntFFWAn6O2/P6_4XpAXTkasQRJnwCdU4Q It is a great experiences. This year I haven´t done it yet, because  I usually do it at the end of some terms. I have thought to do it in march.

VIDEO EDPUZZLE

DAILY ROUTINE In 6th of primary, we have been working daily routine. They have done same tasks with different skills:  - listening: we listen a video in which somebody talk about her/his daily routine - writing: they have to write about their own daily routine and another one about somebody´s daily routine. - speaking: they talk about their routine - vocabulary: verbs  With this video they can listen to  two people's  daily routine. After working all the vocabulary, I have said to my students to watch the video at home, and then in the class we have done the video with the questions. I use this kind of videos very much because all types of students can work with it. They can have different rithm when they are answering the questions. It is not the same as when I put a video, they listen to it, and then they have to answer it. Now in this type of tasks, they can listen to it serveral times, and they have more time to answer. Objectives of the task: - to work the...

CHRONOLOGY OF INVENTION OF TECHNOLOGICAL MEANS

IN OUR CLASS OF 6TH PRIMARY WE ARE IN AN ETWINNING PROJECT ABOUT MEDIA LITERACY AND DISINFORMATION. WE HAVE STARTED WITH THE TELEVISION.  BUT IN THIS PROJECT WE WILL SEE AND WORK THE CHRONOLOGY OF INVENTION. WE USE THE COMPUTERS AND I GIVE THEM THIS PAGE TO WORK ON. THE TEXT IS LONG BUT IT IS EASY TO  READ BECAUSE IT IS A LIST OF WORDS. I THINK IT IS EASY FOR THEM TO WORK ON THIS TEXT. https://www.explainthatstuff.com/timeline.html WITH THIS PAGE THEY HAVE TO USE ONLY THE MEDIA MEANS. THE OBJECTIVE OF THE ACTIVITY IS TO KNOW WHAT THE MEDIA MEANS ARE AND THE NAME OF THEM IN ENGLISH. SO THAT, THE PROJECT IT WILL BE EASIER FOR THEM. IT IS EASY TO DO A TIMELINE, BUT WE HAVE WORKED THE TEXT IN A BIG GROUP OF CLASS. WE HAVEN´T DONE IT INDIVIDUALLY.  WE HAVE READ THE MOST IMPORTANT OF THE TEXT AND THEM, WE HAVE DECIDED WHAT TO PUT IN THE LINE.  WE HAVE NEEDED THREE HOURS TO DO IT: FIRST ONE, THEY HAVE THE TEXT, THEY READ IT AND THEN THEY NOTE THE MOST IMPORTANT ONES ON THEI...

READING STRATEGIES

Reading strategies   It is important to know in which level you are having this kind of type of reading. For instance, it is not the same at the first level of primary as in secondary. It is essential to have a progressive level in reading. When they are too young, reading is not a good idea because they are still learning to read in their mother tongue language. So, you have to be careful because children can get confused. So, at the first level vocabulary and reading vocabulary is the most important. Little by little you can add sentences to those readings. When I give a reading to my pupils, we first look for that important words that children cannot understand and we talk about them. This is very important. They don´t have to know all of the words, but there are some which are really important to be able to understand the complete text. When they are a bit older, it is important also to guess what is the theme of the text looking at an image, or a headline, or th...

READING

Imagen
READING  Not everybody likes the same for reading (comics, newspapers, books, poems...), so it is important to let our students choose what they like or don't. Motivation is essential for pupils so that they will  read for pleasure in a future. If we get them to read for pleasure, we can say we have won and we have done our work: that our students are good readers in the future. Reading habits must be worked since they are children. It is important that families are reader models for the boys and girls. A person cannot be a good reader if they don´t have any books at home. If at home it is impossible, then school must pay attention and try to encourage the reading. We can do it in many ways: for example: every boy and girl bring one book to the classroom, and then, they exchange the books. It is also important that schools have books to let them read those books.
